Martvili Canyon

Unforgettable boat trip along mile Martvili Canyon will  leave the brightest impressions about your trip  to Imereti Region. It seems like rafting but more softer. The canyon is “wet” means there will  be an excellent opportunity to refresh yourself in a hot summer day. May be the bravest will  dare even to swim! . The water is crystal clear and is surrounded with green forest that is reflected in the river and strengthens its emerald color.

Interest to Martvili  Canyon has risen up after the last discovers .  The fact is that here were found footprints of prehistoric creatures who lived 73 million  and traces of dwelling of the first primitive people. Also  many years ago it was a bath place for Georgian nobbles, Dadiani.

This is not surprising, for all the beauty of nature, mountains, landscapes, clean air and the millennial work of the Abash River!

The length of the canyon is 2.5 km and the depth reaches 50-70 m.

Okatse Canyon attracts and remarkable in its beauty no less than Prometheus Caves or Sataplia Nature Reserve.  Trekking on  780m long suspension bridge at an altitude 140m above the cliff is kind  extremal but at the same time it catches the spirit from the opening beauties.

The length of  Okace   Canyon is about 2 km, the width is up to 50 m and the depth varies between 20-200 m. The canyon is divided into two parts the so-called “First Canyon” and “Bottom”.

From the visit center to the beginning of the canyon  is about 2 km so there is an option to overcome the distance by cars which you can take in a rent here  or just take a stroll along the path that leads through a beautiful forest. Once the park  belonged to Georgian dukes  Dadiani. Smoothly the forest passes into the relict bowl of the Colchis forest.

Сanyon has got the name from the Okatsi River which originates on the slopes of Asha Plateau. The river broke hard rocks forming picturesque canyons. There are some caves in gorges with karst water flowing out.

Kinchkha Waterfall

Waterfall  Kinchkha locates in a picturesque Okatse Canyon. The place is interesting with its waterfalls  which served for  a  long time for a local duke as a baths.

Kinchkha Waterfall presents itself as cascade of two waterfalls which flows in Okatse River.

The name was given from  Zeda – Kichkha  and Kveda Kichkha settlements where its locates.

The height of the first waterfall is 100m and located at the altitude 1000-1100m above the sea. On the place where falls the first waterfall was formed the lake water from which flows to the second stage.

Kinchkha attracts every year more and more tourists . Living in megalopolis you can’t see nature power and  beauty  like this every day!
