Leaving the Zhinvali Water Reservoire travel less than 15 min to Ananuri Fortress. Here you can take a journey through the history of 16-17th Century . The Fortress contains a temple of the Dormision of the Blessed Virgin Mary and an ancient tower of the 13th cent. The place is full of intrigue, legends and history. Once upon a time it was one of the strongest fortresses in the country . In medieval times, the site was the scene of battles, even between Georgian rulers. The Ananuri Fortress opens your eyes to an amazing view of the Zhinvalis Water Reservoir.
Leaving the Ananuri Fortress we travel to the Black and White Aragvi River which is not far from a small settlement Pasanauri . There is your opportuity to enjoy traditional Georgian dishes , such as khinkali (considered the best cooked in this part of the country) and many others in one of the restaurants on the way.
From a car park take a path to the Arch . With stamina and nerves of steel you can stand on its vertiginous summit and observe the power and beauty of the mountains.
Drive through the Dariali Gorge takes you on discover another great place ,a small village Stepantsminda ( St.Stephan) where locates gorgeous Kazbegi Mountain (5 ,033m).

We will take a Delica 4×4 Jeep to drive us up to the summit of Gergeti Mountain. On the top of the mountain near the Holy Trinity Monastery (XIV C.), you can take a stroll along the cliff’s edge and contemplate how tiny everything looks from above. The view from Gergeti Monastery on a clear day is stunning – from one side you can see the village below like the size of your hand and on the other side, the gorgeous Kazbegi Mountain.
